Hellllloooooo LJay friends. Time for what has turned into my bi-weekly journal post. (me = FAIL)
Countdown is on to birthday #30. 9 days and counting. And I am ready for it. I got some excellent advice from a few IRL friends and some dear friends here on the interwebs about how to deal with my insecurities revolving around my life at 30. I think I'm okay now.
What a busy, busy week I have ahead of me. My 4 day weekend has rapidly filled up with stuff to do, and none of it involves me getting ready for my vacation next week! :) Parental units and I, along with some of our friends, are getting supplies together for several of the tent cities in our area on Thursday. The job market in our area took a nose dive about 5 years ago, and with the recession piled on top of that, this concord\kannapolis area has been hit pretty hard. It just sucks so bad everywhere.
Anyway, they are taking supplies (food, water, toiletries) down there next Saturday, of course meaning I can't be there. It's almost just as well, because I know the first child I see, living in a tent behind the Wal-mart, will break my heart into a million pieces. I will want to take all of them home. My heart breaks for people in that situation. I'm just glad I'm in a position to help, even though it's not much.
I have to go and get my driver's license renewed on Friday. I can't believe it costs $32 now to have it done. What a load of CRAP. I just hope I don't have to spend the entire day there.
Red Sox baseball has been made of awesome lately. Our team is just playing really good ball. Even when they don't win, they are putting every ounce of effort behind it that they can muster. LOVE THEM!
SOOOOOO ready for birthday trip to Atlanta with
ecl1958 to see the Sawx next week. Looks like pitching rotation will be Dice-K on my birthday, Joshie on Saturday and Wakey on Sunday. I can live with that. Just wish it was next Thursday already. Why do I feel like this will be the longest week ever???
p.s. Red Sox, thank you for allowing Josh Beckett's last inter-league start in a NL ballpark to occur at Turner Field, next weekend. Getting to see Josh bat gives me the warm fuzzies. Being there to see it in person???
I might just asplode. =D
Anywho, that's about all that's going on around these parts.
How are you f-list?? I'll be bored at work all day, so feel free to comment and give me things to think about. :D
Much love. MUAH!

The problem with LiveJournal:
We all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other.
So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me.
Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about.
Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you!

I am so fucking ill today I can't figure out what to do with myself. Absolute bitch-on-wheels.
I make cantankerous look like sunshine and rainbows today.
I have had 12 hours of sleep combined since Thursday night. This job is going to kill me.
That is all.
I think I need Beckett sized love. :(

It just has to be a rainy Monday. Bleh.
A few things since I have been away for what seems like forever:
- HI EVERYONE!!! **waves** XD
-Happy belated Mother's day to all the mommies and "mothas" out there. My god-daughter Jeana actually got me a Mother's day gift this year. Totally unexpected. Of course....I cried.........For about 20 minutes. Pitiful sobbing mess I was. :)
- I am officially in love with Jason Bay. My next purchase before I head off to Atlanta with
ecl1958 to watch the Sawx on my b-day will be a Bay shirt. Is he clutch or what?
- If I have one more person come up to me and want to talk about Manny Ramirez and his doping "scandal", I am going to rip their face off. Not figuratively.....LITERALLY.
- Speaking of the Atlanta trip. Not that I am in a hurry to turn 30, but jeez. IS IT JUNE YET?!?!?!?
- Joshua Patrick Beckett. ERA approaching 7? Hmmm....not good for business Mister. You're breaking hearts, Mr. Beckett. And not in your usual "I-am-a-bad-ass-pitcher-who-eats-bat ters-for-breakfast-then-bones-their-mom" kinda way. Work on that command there, buddy.
- My mom is having her second carpal tunnel surgery on the 28th of the month. Hopefully that will have her as straightened out as she can be with her rheumatoid arthritis\RSD\carpal tunnel issue. Now, if I can just find someone to give my dad a job, we will be in business.
- Hurricanes\Buins hockey. I have been spoiled yet again. And I know as soon as this series is over I won't get to watch the B's anymore. *sadface* Why do I choose to enjoy watching teams that are not local?!?!? Must be a glutton for punishment. :D
That's about all I can think of. Life is just rolling along over here. Weather is stupid. Hot, cold, rainy, stormy. Makes my head spin. Welcome back, summer in the south.
But hey, the bright side to life right now? I'm fitting in smaller pants. I'll take it and run with it. :D
Hope you all are doing well. Big HUGS for those who need them and\or want them.

I don't really have anything to post about today (other than the fact that Josh and Paps combined last night made me search for TUMS), so I thought I would share a few pretty pictures I took at Memorial Gardens the other day. Spring has sprung, and it is so pretty.
( Spring time pictures... )
Hope those posted okay. My classic problem with internet capabilities at work is that I can't see any pictures I post. Ha, so much fun.
Hope you all have a GREAT Sunday!

the yankees score right now. (Sorry Trish, I had to do it. You won't begrudge me that, right?) ;D
Glad I was able to watch the Sox win last night. Hell of a come back by our boys. Let's just hope they can keep up the whole scoring runs part. :D
And Beckett toes the rubber tonight! Blessed be! ::flails::
I was able to spend the last two days (thanks to spring break) with my god-daughter Jeana who literally brightens my world. Especially with the week I have had. I had to go to a funeral today for my great aunt, and with everything else that has been on my mind this week, I am pretty much hating life right now. It's amazing how that little girl can turn it all around. :D
Hope all of you are having a great weekend. Getting ready to settle in at work and attempt to listen to the ball game.
cross fingers and toes that internet nazis let that happen. :D
Have a good one, y'all.

"I don’t really feel like I did anything. It’s unfortunate," Beckett said. "I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do. Am I supposed to go give him a hug? I wasn’t really in a hugging mood right then. I don’t really know what they wanted me to do."
God, Joshua Patrick!! I love your sarcastic ass. ::clings::
If you ever do get in a hugging mood, pass one over here. I could use it.
Also....
DICE-K I AM GOING TO STRING YOU UP BY YOUR BALLS!!!
(and I'm not talking about the balls you throw to walk everyone in creation)
You need to tell someone about arm fatigue, man. That's kind of a big deal. It can have an unfortunate effect on your game. Last night was a fine example of that. If you were not lying and you do in fact feel fine, then Red Sox Nation would like to know......
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!?!?!?!?
There has got to be some kind of explanation, cause that's the finest example of pitching implosion I have seen in a while.
This madness has got to stop. Seriously. The Red Sox have got to win one sooner or later, right?
Okay, I think I feel better now. :)
So, how is everyone doing?

I can't even bring myself to blog about baseball today. Cause my heart is too heavy this morning.
( Sad stuff, incase you want to skip it. )
Hugs to all my LJ friends. You are all very dear to me.
P.S. Red Sox, please stop trying to break my heart. :(

Pat, I would like to buy a vowel. Can I have a U?
Hmmm....so game was kinda shit-tastic today. Sox are 2-4 and apparently love to leave a million and 1 people on base. The long ball is great, guys. We love it when you go yard. But stringing a few hits together to score some runs can happen too. Let's work on that, k?
The whole "bruhaha" (that's what Don O. called it) in the first inning was just stupid. Bobby Abreu needs to calm himself. If Josh Beckett wanted to hit you in the head, he wouldn't have missed. And that's not the way Josh rolls, dude. Was kinda funny to keep seeing Angels players getting ejected, but sadly it didn't affect the outcome. Sigh.
So, goals for tomorrow?
For the Red Sox, to win a game. And to not leave everyone stranded on base.,
Goals for me?
To not kill the new guy at work considering it's just going to be he and I for the rest of the week. Here's hoping I don't have a Beckett-sized fit at the office this week. Lord grant me strength.
Hope everyone had a great easter! Later!

Happy Easter everyone!!!
I have forgone any religious traditions this year to stay at home and help my mom cook dinner (she is having a rough weekend) :(
Instead, I will eat myself into a sluggish, coma-like state, and crash in front of the computer to watch Commander Kickass deal it to the Angels later! (He's like the easter bunny, except he brings us well executed pitches and f-bombs from the pitchers mound.) :)
What ever you all are doing to celebrate the holiday, I hope you enjoy!!
Hugs all around!

I just thought I knew how much I missed baseball.
Then Monday rolled around, and life seemed to somehow right itself in a small way. It's just baseball.....I know that. Just a stick and ball sport. It's funny though how jubliant I was on opening day. It was just like Christmas morning! Being able to come home and watch the Yankees lose to the Orioles (yes, the Orioles. Sabathia and Texeria looked like they were worth ALL THAT MONEY. Sure 'nuff), tuning into the Cubs\Astros game just in time to see Milton Bradley seriously turn his ankle (owie), hearing that Kevin Millwood pitched 7 innings of 1-run baseball for the Rangers earlier that day. All of it made the long ass off season worth it.
But none of that compared to Red Sox opening day. Not one bit. I was going to be forced to watch the game in replay since it would start while I was still at the office, then later at the gym. About 2 o'clock yesterday I made the decision that my desire to see Josh and my Red Sox on opening day against the Rays far outweighed my desire to take ab class. Left work an hour early, got home just in time for the first pitch (in new MLBtv HD quality even!) and it was like my heart started to beat again. I am in the best mood now that I know baseball is back for 161 more games.
You guys know what I'm talking about, right? Surely I'm not crazy for the relief I feel right now. Right????
Either way, welcome back baseball. Apparently my life has been very incomplete without you. :)
And welcome back Commander Kick Ass. You were phenomenal yesterday. Also, 8 out of 9 in our lineup got at least 1 hit! (Sorry Jacoby!)
Looks like it's gonna be a great season! So happy that it's finally started!

The NCAA tournament has managed to suck me back into college basketball. Three cheers for another sport to keep up with!
I have watched more college hoops in the past 3 weeks than I have in the last 3 years. I guess it doesn't hurt that my team of choice made the Final Four, which makes it easy for me. Reminds me of when I was a huge Tarheel fan in high school, and followed them as closely as I follow the Sox now. Ah, memories. :)
Anyway.......
GO HEELS!
(finally, a sporting event I can pick up on a TV at work!! WOO HOO!!)
In baseball news (HOLY CRAP! BASEBALL IS HERE Y'ALL! This has been the longest off season EVER!!)How pissed am I that Josh's FIRST OPENING DAY START is on Monday at 2 O'CLOCK in the afternoon, WHILE I AM AT WORK!?!?!?!?! Damn baseball gods, why do you hate me so? What happened to 7:05? Good thing for ESPN and DVR or I would be one VERY unhappy Joshua Patrick fan come Monday night. Dammit.
In other news......
well, there isn't any. Hence the reason I haven't posted because there is just nothing new to report. Things that sucked a month ago still suck. And other than work drama with greedy, ungrateful co-workers, nothing has changed.
How are all of you wonderful people on my f-list? Tell me good things to distract me. ;D
Opening day is near, y'all! Welcome baseball back!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!

Howdy all! Just wanted to check in right quick before I blow this popsicle stand for the weekend.
I'm heading off to Bristol to feed the need for my other sports love, which of course is racing,. I haven't made it to the race track in 2 years and I miss it something awful! So, my dad and I will be Bristol bound in a few hours and will be returning on Monday! Lonnnnng weekends FTW!
I hate I am going to miss the Sox game today against the Marlins. But oh well, NASCAR calls and I must answer. Good luck to the boys! May they win by lots of runs in my absence. :)
You guys have a great weekend! I'll be in touch on Monday when I arrive back in town.

I hope everyone on my f-list is doing well. I've been doing a lot of drive-by post reading lately, but haven't been commenting much. I'm going to work on that, I promise.
So hugs and happy thoughts to all of you.
Bring on the baseball and the Commander, please. :)
